Our E,Z,F, K will be assigned reading books throughout the school year.  All watoto will have a reading book and a marker with their reading assignment written on it.  Please supervise their reading and sign the markers.  We appreciate any and all feedback.  Let us know if the book was too easy or too difficult or if the assignment was too long.

Watoto who are reading chapter books are expected to read for at least half an hour.

Reading books will be sent home on Fridays.  Please return them the following Monday (or Tuesday if there is a holiday).

This just in … Its time to Get ready for SHOW-N-TELL!!!!  WOOHOO!!! Show-n-tell Mondays continues tomorrow Monday, January 24^th, and continues every Monday thereafter. The first letter is:  Pp

*Please send in an item with your Mtoto that begins with the letter of the week. Try and discuss with them what the item is and the beginning sound of the item. Each Mtoto will present their items in front of their classmates and explain their item.*

 ALSO!!!! Please remember to send in KUUMBA wear (arts and crafts cloths, a smock/apron/long tee-shirt) to stay at school for their upcoming Kuumba classes.

• Complete change of clothes (please include socks)
• Naptime bedding
• Ready to eat lunch in a sealable cloth-based lunch bag
• Baby wipes
• Small box of nose tissues
• Small bottle of hand sanitizer
• Smock/long tee-shirt for Kuumba (arts and crafts) 

• #2 pencils (2 – 3 pencils per week)
• 1 glue stick
• 1 box of facial tissues
• 2 pink erasers
• 1 pair of elementary school scissors
• 1 pencil case
• 5 single subject wide-ruled spiral bound notebooks (must have 3 notebook holes)
• 2 pocket folders with notebook holes
• 12 pencil crayons/markers
• 1 two inch (or 2 one inch) looseleaf notebook (spiral notebooks will be placed inside)
• book bag
• 1 simple calculator
• 3 to 5 pencils sharpeners (please only give watoto one at a time)
• 1 twelve in ruler
• 1 primary composition book for pre-K through 2nd grade (handwriting book)
